Veterans Day is one of those holidays that people tend to overlook. Most see it as a day where the banks, post office and the like are closed. A lot of people don’t stop to think what it really means.
It’s a day to honor all our veterans of war, yes, but it’s also the day to thank them. Even more than that though, it’s a day to really think about the impact these former, and current soldiers, have had on this country, and the world in general.
Let’s not just remember our family members and friends but all of their fallen comrades. Let’s not just remember the wars of the last century and the tangible affect they have had on our lives. There is no denying the intangible impact of the soldiers who served and sacrificed in the Revolutionary & Civil Wars. They are still deserving of our reverence.
So, today, and every other day, keep these men, women and young kids in mind, and be thankful for the sacrifices they have made and the life it has allowed you, me and everyone else, to lead and enjoy.
Sincerely,
Hank Longhorn.
